Disclosure Document Help

It is the back to school season, and in thinking about what might be beneficial for all of you that teach in a school, I thought I would share the basics of what to include in your disclosure documents.

I know when I started teaching in schools there was a lot of logistical paperwork to get through at the beginning of the school year, and on top of planning lessons, I needed a document to send home with my students that outlined what to expect in my class. I was at a loss of where to even start! Luckily with the help of some seasoned dance teaching friends, I got advice and input on what to include and how to move forward.

I would love to be that friend that can help YOU out as you start a new school year. I have created an outline to walk you step by step through the process of creating your own disclosure document. I hope this is helpful in getting you started. (And please talk to your other dance teaching friends too! They are a wealth of knowledge!!)

Writing a disclosure document will help you solidify your teaching and grading strategy, as well as helping you set up basic procedures and processes that will happen every day in class. This document is just one more way to help teach your students your expectations.

Please know that I am sending all the good vibes your way as we head into another school year. You can make a difference and you've got this!
